Upcoming ANSC C63® Standards Webinar Provides Updates on the Next Edition of ANSI C63.4 and the NEW ANSI C63.25.2
Join
Industry Experts on Thursday, April 28, to Learn How These Standards Impact EMC
Test Methodologies for Equipment and Site Validation
CEDAR
PARK, Texas, March 24, 2022 – Active technical contributors to the American
National Standards Committee (ANSC) C63 (Electromagnetic Compatibility) will
present in a webinar on Thursday, April 28, from 8:00 to 9:30 am PDT to share the
latest information on two key standards maintained by ANSC C63. The two standards include the seminal ANSI
C63.4 “Methods of Measurement of Radio-Noise Emissions from Low-Voltage
Electrical and Electronic Equipment in the Range of 9 kHz to 40 GHz” and the new
ANSI C63.25.2 “Validation Methods for Radiated Emission Test Sites, 30 MHz to 1
GHz.”
The
Working Group for ANSI C63.4 has been very active in recent years updating the
current edition to include the latest EMC measurement methods. With publication of the new edition expected
in early 2023, the EMC test and measurement community will most certainly appreciate
that the webinar will be covering the new test methodologies contained in this
standard. This latest edition is eagerly
anticipated since ANSI C63.4 was last published in 2014, with an amendment
published in 2017.
ANSI
C63.25.2 is particularly significant since it is a NEW standard that provides
the latest test methodology for validating performance of an EMC test site, while
addressing the frequency range of 30 MHz to 1 GHz as part of its “series” on
validation methods for radiated emission test sites. (C63.25.1 addresses the frequency range of 1
to 18 GHz; C63.25.3 addresses the frequency range of 18 to 40 GHz.) The C63 Main Committee has approved the
latest draft of this standard, and the Working Group is currently reviewing
comments from the Main Committee. During
the Q&A session of the webinar, attendees are welcome to add their own comments
for Working Group consideration.
In
light of the significance of these C63.4 and C63.25.2 standards to designers of
electrical and electronic equipment as well as to users of commercial and
in-house EMC test chambers, respectively, experts from ANSC C63 will provide an
educational webinar to present the new test requirements specified in these
standards.
Webinar moderator and ANSC C63 Committee
Chair Dan Hoolihan with Hoolihan EMC Consulting stated, “It’s important to discuss
these two standards together as the site validation test methods currently described
in C63.4 will move to the C63.25 series of standards. We are conducting this work in parallel so
both standards may be published concurrently.
Our webinar speakers, Andy Griffin with Cisco Systems and Zhong Chen
with ETS-Lindgren, along with their respective Working Groups, play an
important role in making this happen.”
